Ruben Studdard Plans First Annual Ruben Studdard Celebration

Birmingham, AL Mayor William A. Bell and Season 2 American Idolwinner, Ruben Studdard will announce plans today for the first annual Ruben Studdard Celebration weekend, a series of events that will include the BHAM Marathon, reports AL.com.

“The City of Birmingham is so very pleased to work with Ruben and his event organizers on this exciting new weekend of events including the marathon,” says Mayor Bell, “The event weekend will make a great economic impact on the city and help support all the kids benefiting from the great work of the Ruben Studdard Foundation.”

The celebration will take place in the fall, details and dates have not been set yet. The events will benefit the Ruben Studdard Foundation for the Advancement of Children in the Music Arts.

“Running has become a very important part of my health and wellness plan,” says Ruben, “The City of Birmingham has always been an important part of me becoming the person I am today. I’m looking forward to being a part of something so exciting that helps the city and the kids who benefit from the foundation.”

The event weekend will include a benefit concert, running expo and meet-and-greet opportunities with Ruben and other celebrities. Graduates and current members of the Ruben Studdard Foundation will provide musical entertainment for runners on the course.

David Archuleta and Ruben Studdard both performed for the NBC special, Skate for the Heart, filmed in Youngstown, OH a few months ago.
The special provides awareness for the prevention of heart disease and is hosted by legendary skaters Michelle Kwan and Peggy Fleming.
Ruben and David both performed several numbers, and I’ll be posting them here as I upload them!

Yesterday David Foster's "Foster and Friends" tour stopped in Japan..and they paid tribute to MJ!
Now this was simply amazing!!! But I'll admit THAT CHARICE stole the show..she took me to church again and I actually for a second forgot that she was  performing with others! Charice sings with the kinda passion that is rare in many singers today...she brought the house down!! Good stuff ..amazing tribute.. if they come to a country or city near you make sure  you go see them .




Tid Bit ~ Ne Yo's cover of Earth Song was TEN TIMES better than Usher's mess at the Grammys this year!! Usher sounded like a squealing cat!!
