Chris Brown has been named one of the performers to take part in the 'Today Show' Toyota Concert Series.
Brown hasn't performed on the 'Today Show' in three years and is slated to appear July 15. Although his set list hasn't been revealed, the 22-year-old will likely perform music off his 'F.A.M.E.' album, which has sold over 500,000 copies since its release back in March.
This summer, the 'Today Show' is continuing its reputation for bringing some of music's biggest stars to its outside stage. Bruno Mars, Cee Lo Green, Rihanna, Maroon 5 and Pitbull with special guest T-Pain and Ne-Yo are just some of the names on the bill.
The Toyota Concert Series takes place every Friday on the top rated morning show, and will wrap up September 2 with Lenny Kravitz.

According to industry sources, the set moved approximately 25,000 units on its first day of release and could have shifted close to 75,000 units by the time the chart-tracking week concluded at the close of business Sunday (Mar. 27). That reported sum could land the album within the top five of next week's Billboard 200. As reported earlier this week, Chris Brown is set to lead the list with "F.A.M.E.," with industry prognosticators predicting debut week sales in the 250,000-300.000 range.
The last major relief-effort album, "Hope for Haiti," which featured tracks performed on the "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon, moved 171,000 in no more than two full days upon its Jan. 23, 2010 release, although that album featured newly recorded songs and/or performances and was bolstered by MTV's live telethon special.
"Songs for Japan" is a joint effort among the four major label groups, Universal Music, Warner Music, Sony Music and EMI Music. Proceeds from the album's sale will benefit the disaster relief efforts of the Japanese Red Cross Society. A physical version will be released as a 2-CD set on Apr. 4.
The 38 tracks on the compilation consist of 21 Billboard Hot 100 hits, including 16 top 40 entries, nine top 10s and five No. 1s: Beyonce's "Irreplaceable," "Love the Way You Lie" by Eminem featuring Rihanna, Katy Perry's "Firework," Rihanna's "Only Girl (in the World)" and a remix of the list's most recent chart-topper, "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga.

SONGS FOR JAPAN!
"Songs for Japan," the 38-track album featuring current hits, classic tracks and live performances benefitting Japan earthquake and tsunami relief, has been selling briskly since its exclusive release at the iTunes Store on Friday (Mar. 25) for the modest price of $9.99.
According to industry sources, the set moved approximately 25,000 units on its first day of release and could have shifted close to 75,000 units by the time the chart-tracking week concluded at the close of business Sunday (Mar. 27). “It has been a big disappointment,” said a source to the Post. “The ticket sales in big US cities like Boston are so bad, they will barely cover basics like the lighting and other arena costs. Tour managers are begging local radio stations to do giveaways.”
Rihanna, seen here leaving the Giorgio Baldi restaurant after dinner in Santa Monica, is scheduled to perform in Boston in July with Cee Lo Green. But with less than 4,000 tickets sold and 15,000 needed to break even, things aren’t looking good. Tour operators are expecting to lose more than half a million dollars there alone.
But low ticket sales haven’t stopped Rihanna from going all out. “It’s the normal diva requests,” the source said, “which is tolerated, when you make money.

RIHANNA FACES LOW TICKET SALES!
Is Rihanna really the last girl on Earth people want to see in concert? Apparently, yes. According to the NY Post, the pop star is having trouble selling tickets for “Loud,” her new tour that kicks off in Baltimore on June 4.

Last year, Rihanna’s “Last Girl on Earth” tour also faced problems when shows in cities including Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, Denver and Indianapolis were cancelled because of low ticket sales. Pre-sales for “Loud” have been poor, so Rihanna was advised by her new manager Jay Brown to cancel several dates.“It has been a big disappointment,” said a source to the Post. “The ticket sales in big US cities like Boston are so bad, they will barely cover basics like the lighting and other arena costs. Tour managers are begging local radio stations to do giveaways.”

Rihanna is getting the Purple treatment. Prince and his New Power Generation band gave a special treat to concertgoers at Monday night’s gig at Oakland’s Oracle Arena. The music icon slipped a cover of Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” into his set, allowing the female singers to handle vocal duties with Sheila E. on the drums, but he took over at the end as everyone from fans to security guards boogied in the aisles. Watch Prince and company catch island fever.

MUSICAL OASIS MUSIC AND ARTIST DISCUSSION FORUMS OFFICIALLY OPEN
I have always had it at the back of my mind to create my own music/artist discussion forum but never really got the motivation and push until recently ..i visit a lot of forums from Michael Jackson discussion boards to Janet..Adam Lambert end even less popular artists like Jojo and Jordin Sparks ..but of late there has been a lot of negativity on most boards especially the Janet and MJ boards..this just pushed me to the limit one day when i was banned from a forum because i cursed out some members for being so negative ..if this wasn't a sign for me to create my own then i don't know what is..i discussed it with a friend of mine who gave me ideas and we did this..(click on the picture to join the forum)

Right now there are 16 represented artist discussion sections ..the number will increase and more artist categories will be added as this forum gets more popular....currently the most popular sections of the forums are the Michael Jackson,Chris Brown and .. Rihanna sections..make sure you join and ask all you friends to..its a safe place to discuss your favorite artist /music or anything on your mind ....

BILLBOARDS SOCIAL 50 - MONTH RECAP
I decided not to post the Social 50 once a week and instead I'm going to recap the month in one post. I will only be posting the top 5 from the month because all 50 would be one looooooong post!
See The Entire Social 50 Chart
From the week of January 22nd up to the week of February 12th ~
January 22
Justin Bieber
Rihanna
Lady GaGa
Black Eyed Peas
Eminem
January 29
Justin Bieber
Rihanna
Akon
Black Eyed Peas
Lady GaGa
February 5th
Justin Bieber
Rihanna
Akon
Black Eyed Peas
Lady GaGa
February 12th
Justin Bieber
Rihanna
Akon
Lady GaGa
Shakira
As you can see for the last 4 weeks Justin Bieber is the top of the Social 50 chart, remember this chart is what we are listening to and talking about via social websites such as Facebook, Twitter and My Space.
One thing I can say about this is people seem to be listening to the same things week after week - Justin Bieber and Rihanna are the most played artists. Neither of them are who I listen to so none of the data keeping them on this chart comes from me LOL
This week Shakira has replaced Black Eyed Peas, I do listen to the Peas from time to time and I do love Shakira!
Lady GaGa has held on to a spot on this chart for quite some time. Her fans love her, Im not a fan. GaGa seems to have the same sort of following that Madonna had in the 80ies and to me "It's Been Done" for the most part.
Eminem was blown off the top 5 in mid January so no need to even speak on him (not a fan)
