The Black Eyed Peas have released the visual for their latest single ‘Don’t Stop The Party‘, the third to be lifted from their ‘The Beginning’ LP. Directed by Ben Mor, the video takes fans of the four-piece into the lively world of their ‘Beginning Tour’. (That Grape Juice)

BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS GO PINK AND GREEN!

(Rap-Up) - The Billboard Music Awards are going to be a few shades of pink and green. Nicki Minaj and Cee Lo Green have been tapped to perform at the revived ceremony, airing live from Las Vegas on May 22 on ABC.

The “Super Bass” rapper is nominated for four awards this year including Top New Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Album, and Top R&B Song for Trey Songz’ “Bottoms Up.” Although not a nominee, the “F**k You” singer will take the stage at the MGM Grand to perform one of his Lady Killer cuts.

Additional performers include Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Black Eyed Peas, and Pitbull. Comedian Ken Jeong will host the event, which marks its return for the first time in five years.

BLACK EYED PEAS TO OPEN MUSIC ACADEMY

This summer, the Black Eyed Peas, along with their Peapod Foundation and partnering with the philanthropic Adobe Foundation, will be opening Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Music and Multimedia Academy Number Four in New York.

(Young Hollywood) - There are currently three academies which are based in California -- the first was launched in 2008 at a Boys and Girls Club. The Academy caters to underprivileged youth from 13-19 and focuses on the promotion of social change using music. Accredited media makers and performers lead classes that teach the fundamental skills needed in order to be successful in the industry, including field trips and working hands-on with professional equipment.

No doubt, the major success that the Black Eyed Peas have accumulated over the years is a direct reflection of how heavily the group has influenced not only music but aspiring music lovers as well, and their desire to give back to the community at the level they do reinforces just how great they are. Will.i.am says, "Our passion for music and media was fueled by many generous people on our road to success... Expanding the network of Peapod Adobe Youth Voices academies enables us to pay it forward, giving more youth the skills and encouragement they need to realize their dreams."

Admission into the academy in based on teacher recommendations and their level of interest in graphic design, camera work, editing, and other skills.  The New York facility opens in July.

BLACK EYED PEAS CREATE T-SHIRT FOR CHARITY

Black Eyed Peas have created a special t-shirt to raise money for disadvantaged children across the world.

The group, fronted by will.i.am and Fergie, has designed a limited edition garment which will be sold in aid of their Peapod Foundation, which helps provide education, shelter and healthcare for youngsters.

The t-shirts are being made in conjunction with clothing retailer Aeropostale and every fan who buys one will be entered into a competition to win a trip to meet the band at an upcoming concert.

Black Eyed Peas star Apl.de.ap., says, "We are thrilled to partner with Aeropostale in raising awareness and funds for our Peapod Foundation. The Foundation works to encourage change for social issues affecting children worldwide. The Peapod Foundation provides tools and mentors encouraging children to express themselves through music and art." (SOURCE)

KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS - BLACK EYED PEAS OPENER

I don't even know what to say about this.....In my opinion - they are a MAJOR FAIL lately. This autotune bs has got to go, they don't need it. Im a BEP fan and have been for a while - but this music sucks to be honest and there performances are below par, Come on guys - y'all can do better, we KNOW you can!
The video isn't the best quality but it's all I could find that would actually open.

BLACK EYED PEAS ON AMERICAN IDOL

Now, Im a Black Eyed Peas fan - even though Will I Am has annoyed me where Michael Jackson is concerned but Ive decided to remain a fan and only focus on the music. I have to say "The Beginning" is waaaay below standards  - too much techno and too much synthesizer for my liking. I have always praised the fact that they do in fact mostly sing when they are on stage and dont usually use playback and lipsync.
Last night BEP was one of the musical guests along with Lee Dewyze, who is last seasons winner on the show. I must say - Lee blew the Peas OUT OF THE WATER!!! I, personally - thought their performance was the worst I have ever seen from them...EVER!

First off - Fergie (and I LOVE Fergie)...WTF? She sounded like a cat in a microwave and what the hell was with the green nails and RED (and not a nice red either) lipstick....? The heels she had on were 8 inches high easy and it always pisses me off when people can not only walk but also dance in shoes that high cause I surly can NOT! In my opinion, and this is only what I feel, that dress was very sweet and was cute on her but the shoes were stripper-esque and not a compliment to the dress. Can you say HOT MESS??!? PS - the earrings matched NOTHING!!
Will Iam - It sounded like you were singing into a childs play microphone, you know the ones that make your voice sound funny and by funny I mean ROTFLMFAO type funny.
Taboo sounded great!!
Then to dedicate THAT song to Japan? Really..?? Of all the songs you could pick for "Dedication" you pick that one...I dont get it.

The latest single off "The Beginning" - "Just cant Get Enough" video has been released, “It was the easiest video I ever shot because it was us living our lives,” explains Fergie of the Ben Mor-directed visuals. “I love that it’s showing a true perspective of how it can sometimes be lonely on the road away from our loved ones. It also demonstrates the love and connection we have with Japan. Our hearts go out to all of the Japanese people who have been affected by this natural disaster.”

BLACK EYED PEAS DEDICATE VIDEO CLIP TO JAPAN

A week before the earthquake and tsunami struck Japan, will.i.am, Fergie, apl.de.ap, and Taboo were in Tokyo to shoot the video for their new single “Just Can’t Get Enough,” and have dedicated the clip to the people of the country.

To show their support for those afflicted by the natural disaster, the group included a special message at the beginning of the video, reports CNN. “This video was filmed in Japan one week before the earthquake. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people of Japan. We love you,” reads the text, while providing viewers with a link to donate to the Red Cross.


Will.i.am previously tweeted his concern for his Japanese friends. “I’m worried about my friends from smap smap, verbal, kage son, and all my friends I care about . I can’t reach any of them in japan,” he wrote.


The foursome will perform “Just Can’t Get Enough” this Thursday on “American Idol,” while the video is set to debut sometime this week.

As you can see for the last 4 weeks Justin Bieber is the top of the Social 50 chart, remember this chart is what we are listening to and talking about via social websites such as Facebook, Twitter and My Space.

One thing I can say about this is people seem to be listening to the same things week after week - Justin Bieber and Rihanna are the most played artists. Neither of them are who I listen to so none of the data keeping them on this chart comes from me LOL 

This week Shakira has replaced Black Eyed Peas, I do listen to the Peas from time to time and I do love Shakira!

Lady GaGa has held on to a spot on this chart for quite some time. Her fans love her, Im not a fan. GaGa seems to have the same sort of following that Madonna had in the 80ies and to me "It's Been Done" for the most part.

Eminem was blown off the top 5 in mid January so no need to even speak on him (not a fan)

USHER & BEP TEAM UP FOR SUPER BOWL HALFTIME PERFORMANCE!!

The Black Eyed Peas are pulling out all the stops for this Sunday’s Super Bowl XLV. The AP reports that Usher and former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash will join the supergroup as surprise guests during their halftime performance.


Ursh and Slash have previously collaborated with the Peas. The R&B singer linked up with will.i.am for the international smash “OMG,” while the guitarist has performed with Fergie, Taboo, will, and apl.de.ap during their recent tour and laid down the track “Beautiful Dangerous” with Fergie Ferg.


“This is the most exciting thing I’ve ever done,” tweeted will.i.am, currently in Dallas rehearsing for the big game. “Butterflys in my stomach…I feel like I’m in a dream…(We are playing the super bowl!!!).”


Details are mum on what the foursome will actually perform during the show, but will.i.am has revealed that they’ll tone it down by cutting some of their raunchier hits from the megamix. “We’re not playing ['My Humps']. It’s a club song,” he told The New York Times. “It’s like when I get around my mom, all my cuss words are deleted from my vocabulary. Automatically, they just leave. Super Bowl, yes, the words are not going to exist in my vocabulary.”

Christina Aguilera to Sing National Anthem at Super Bowl

Christina Aguilera will sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in Texas on Feb. 6, the NFL and Fox announced Monday (Jan. 24).

The five-time Grammy award winning singer will be making an encore at the NFL championship. She was part of the halftime show during the 2000 Super Bowl.

REVIEW - BLACK EYED PEAS "THE BEGINNING"

You'll be familiar with 'The Time (Dirty Bit)', the ubiquitous chart-topper which opens The Black Eyed Peas' new album. It's an embarrassing mess of Auto-Tuned vocals, cringe-worthy rapping, and keyboard-demo beats. It unashamedly quotes from '(I've Had) The Time Of My Life', and makes the original sound like a work of art by comparison. It seems to have been composed by a six year old, and mixed by their pet dog. It's also the best track on The Beginning.

None of this should come as a surprise. The Black Eyed Peas are no strangers to critical brickbats; their last few albums have been mauled by the music press, and this one has provoked an even more hostile reaction. Despite this, of course, they continue to sell gazillions of records. It's tempting to indulge in some elitist posturing to explain this disconnect; to bemoan the lack of taste of those who keep spending money on their releases. 'Lack of taste' is a slippery, vague phrase, however. There is a more concrete way to explain the success of a group who, despite an apparent inability to sing, rap, write beats, or structure songs, remain a huge cash cow. They make deliberately blunt, uncomplicated communal party music, music which is best heard in a cheap, nasty club at two in the morning. In that situation, there's something almost compelling about their amateurish sing-along stupidity. If you see music primarily as something to soundtrack a drunken dance with friends, rather than as something to be enjoyed for its own sake, then there's something brutally effective about The Black Eyed Peas. They're the musical equivalent of very cheap supermarket own-brand vodka.

Unfortunately it didn't prove possible to review this album while drunkenly flailing around in a club, so it must stand or fall on what it sounds like when listened to alone and sober. In this situation, it sounds appalling; utterly, lamentably, irredeemably bad. Will.i.am's beats are childlike in their simplicity (4/4, anyone?) and shockingly dated. The lyrics consist of empty, clunky boasting. It's best not to even mention the synths. The grating 'Don't Stop The Party' (which comes complete with a 808s and Heartaches-despoiling autotuned chorus) would be a contender for worst song of the year, were it not for the existence of the even more wretched 'Love You Long Time' ('Boy I'll let you love me in the velvet lounge'). It's difficult not to conclude that even the music's effectiveness as a soundtrack to idiocy is entirely accidental; the band's benighted songwriting has somehow, purely by chance, turned out to have a use.

The oddest thing about The Black Eyed Peas is that they were once a conscious hip-hop band who drew on the likes of A Tribe Called Quest. Their subsequent grab for the lowest common denominator saw them effectively trade their musical credibility for commercial success. By now, you will surely know whether or not you enjoy their simplistic dance-pop; but even if you think they're a band who sound good on a night out, don't expect The Beginning to be something that can be appreciated for its own sake. 2010 IN MUSIC - THE YEAR THAT WENT POP!!! |BILLBOARD

Imagine it's Jan. 1, 2010, and a psychic has laid out the following music predictions for the year:

--Ke$ha, the self-proclaimed "sick and sexified" singer of "TiK ToK," will not fade into obscurity. Instead, she'll release two albums and rack up three more Billboard Hot 100 top 10s before the year is up, the last of which will debut at No. 1.

--Lady Gaga will wear a meat dress, flip the bird at Yankee Stadium and pull rosary beads out of her mouth, but none of this will be as entertaining or successful as her music.

--"Biebermania" will not only show no sign of letting up, it will also afflict the Recording Academy, which will nominate the teen phenom for a best new artist Grammy Award.

--The cast of Fox's hit musical series "Glee" will surpass the Beatles' record for most appearances by a non-solo act on the Hot 100.

--B.o.B, a rapper who sings and plays guitar, and Bruno Mars, a Hawaiian who specializes in modern-day doo-wop, will help each other become famous with a tenderhearted duet.

--A 12-year-old Oklahoma boy will sign with Lady Gaga's management after performing "Paparazzi" at his school's talent show. Meanwhile, a 10-year-old "America's Got Talent" finalist will take her operatic seasonal EP to No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and another 10-year-old will have grown women whipping their hair back and forth.

--A song about a mythical private jet will hit No. 1 and gift us with the year's best new party terminology: slizzard.

--Only one rock band will reach the Hot 100 top 10 -- Train, with "Hey, Soul Sister."

In a year when some of the music industry's few remaining presumptions, such as "digital sales will keep growing" and "tours can withstand a weak economy," were subverted, no one can be blamed for not foreseeing all the ways in which pop music would take over the marketplace. But a takeover it was.

Seven of the year's 20 best-selling albums were by pop artists -- that is, in Billboard parlance, acts without significant success on our genre-based charts, such as Country, R&B/Hip-Hop, Modern Rock, etc. This compares with four in 2009 and two in 2005. The 2010 top 10 includes Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream," Lady Gaga's "The Fame," Justin Bieber's "My World" and "My World 2.0" and the Black Eyed Peas' "The E.N.D." If you expand the definition of pop to include Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum, whose mainstream-leaning country hits were embraced at pop radio, and Eminem, whose "Recovery" featured some of his most unabashedly crossover songs to date, you could argue that nine of the top 10 albums speak to pop's dominance (all but Andrea Bocelli's "My Christmas").

The fact that Billboard's top two artists of the year, Gaga and Swift, didn't chart on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums is also telling. It's the first time that neither of the year's top two artists has graced that chart since 1997, when LeAnn Rimes and Spice Girls came in at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

But perhaps most striking is the way in which synth-driven, Auto-Tuned, four-on-the floor-influenced pop dominated the Hot 100. Of the 15 songs to reach No. 1 on the chart this year, just six fall outside of this descriptive: Eminem's "Not Afraid" and "Love the Way You Lie," Rihanna's "Rude Boy" and "What's My Name?", B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars' "Nothin' on You" and Mars' "Just the Way You Are." When these are the four artists delivering the closest thing to a slow jam, it's safe to say we've entered a new era.

"When you listen to radio now, it's all so much about tempo," says Barry Weiss, outgoing chairman/CEO of RCA/Jive Label Group, which can count Ke$ha, Usher and P!nk among this year's biggest success stories.

"We're in a golden spot for pop music, for sure," adds Antonio "L.A." Reid, chairman/CEO of Island Def Jam Music Group (IDJMG), whose artists Bieber, Rihanna and even Kanye West helped solidify pop's current boom. "I don't see it moving any time soon." SOURCE
