MADONNA AND GAGA DISTANT RELATIVES?

(Gossip On This) - Two of pop’s iconic characters may very well be related. Louise Veronica Ciccone and Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known to the world as pop phenomenons Madonna and Lady Gaga are reported to be ninth cousins once removed.

Celebrity Genealogist, Chris Child, decided to go digging and found that the queens of pop are descendants of a French immigrant couple who landed in Quebec in the 1600s.

Child’s said of his findings to the Boston Globe:
“When I saw that Lady Gaga had French Canadian ancestry I thought there might be something there”.

Gaga recently came under fire for her single “Born This Way” having strong similarities to Madonna’s huge hit, “Express Yourself”.
Maybe this is why…it’s in the blood!

Wouldn’t you just give anything to be a fly on the wall at this pair’s holiday celebrations!

How's That For Crazy News!!

TOP 5 MADISON SQUARE GARDEN TELEVISED PERFORMANCES - LADY GAGA IS NEXT

With the impending release of Lady Gaga's third album "Born This Way" (you may have heard about it), the 24-year-old singer is also getting her own HBO concert.

The network announced that Gaga's Feb. 21 and 22 shows at New York's Madison Square Garden will be packaged into a special, airing Saturday, May 7.

This may seem like a natural step for the Grammy-winning, 15-million-record-selling singer, but HBO doesn't just hand these things out. Gaga enters an elite fraternity including Madonna, Michael Jackson and Britney Spears.

And, yes, the days of event television may be behind us, but the spectacle of a well-produced concert is timeless. So here are five of the more iconic performances to ever grace pay cable:

Michael Jackson, The Dangerous Tour, 1993

Reported at the time as the "largest financial deal for a concert performance" in TV history, MJ's show in Bucharest, Romania, landed on HBO during a period when the artist was distancing himself from public appearances in the USA. In hindsight, Jackson's moves and command of the stage endure. His billowing kimono and guitarist dressed as the Tree of Life from "Avatar..." not so much.

Madonna, Drowned World Tour, 2001

Her third HBO special -- a follow-up to 1990's Blond Ambition and 1993's Girlie Show -- was sort of a coup for the singer, who'd all but abandoned her singles from the '80s. But the Material Girl returned to her home in the English countryside suburban Detroit with a tour that hit all of her career highs. This one was broadcast live, with a countdown special that reminds us that, as much as we'd like to forget, the early aughts were basically still the '90s. Karen Duffy and several dozen men with platinum highlights offer proof of that.

Britney Spears, Live From Las Vegas, 2001

Can you believe Britney Spears was three years and three albums deep into her career before she had televised concert? It may have something to do with the fact that singing live has never really been her thing, but this show proved she can writhe in simulated rain with the best of them. Nobody else has, or will, ever look this good in a transparent cowboy hat.

Justin Timberlake, FutureSex/LoveShow, 2007

Justin Timberlake may be considering a career solely devoted to acting, but it's probably just been too long since he last popped in the Blu-ray of his 2007 show at Madison Square Garden. It puts his work in "The Social Network" to shame. And clocking in at just under 2 hours, it also holds the unofficial record for longest consecutive period of time one mortal human being has literally oozed sex.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concert, 2009

If god were to make a concert line-up, it would probably look a lot like the 25th anniversary show for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Legends like Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and B.B. King played with a host of other guests, culminating in a Springsteen/Billy Joel medley. They close the night with "Born To Run," and it's arguably one of the greatest things to ever happen. Ever.

Top that, Gaga.

Madonna to re-release 'Express Yourself' after Lady Gaga plagiarism uproar

When pop titan Lady Gaga premiered her new song ‘Born This Way’ yesterday, there were a heap of unanimous accusations about the production baring a striking similarity toMadonna’s ‘Express Yourself’. Gaga has pretty much channelled most of her career after Madonna, and fans are furious that the track is so unoriginal.

After another legend – Grace Jones – called Gaga out on her ‘copying’ last year, it looks like the 24-year-old really is about to face the music. With many critics berating Gaga for plagiarising the Madonna classic, the pop legend’s old record company Warner Brothers, is now considering re-releasing 1989’s Express Yourself as a single. It will reportedly come with a live video of Madonna performing the track in 2004. Wow…

Britney Spears talks Madonna, Lady Gaga & ‘Femme Fatale’…

Pop titan Britney Spears sat down and did her Q & A on twitter today which saw the 29-year-old pop starlet answer the very questions her fans wanted to know. She was tweeting the replies from her Cali home in Calabassas. Thesinger was smart enough to answer the big questions pertaining to her new album ‘Femme Fatale’ such as promo, tour and the productionprocess. She even laid the Grammy rumours to rest by bluntly stating that she would NOT be attending and had no plans to do so.
She reveals the album is “moody, edgy pop with A LOT of energy” making note that she co-wrote a couple of songs, and proudly declaring it as some of the best work she’s ever done. The project also has a few mid-tempo ballads and will be accompanied by a global tour. As for promotional activities, she says she’ll be doing a lot of promo, and that we should expect some major announcements in the next few days.
Once the important questions were out of the way, she answered some lighthearted ones whichpermitted her to express her love and admiration for Lady Gaga and Madonna, her fetish for Strawberry Frapuchinos and her desire to act again.

SPOTLIGHT: MADONNA

To say I love Madonna would be the understatement of a lifetime!! I LOVE her!! She does NOT care what people think and I admire that about her.

In the 80ies, when I first discovered her - she was everything I wanted to be - beautiful, sassy and very original. Im sure many a teenage girl in the 80ies wanted to be the Material Girl! She challenged all the notions of what a female should act liek in the music industry - she did her thing her way and did not stray from that for even a second of the years.

Over the years she has become a true entrepreneur and has made millions and millions for herself through her talent and smart business sense! She has her hands in a great number of ventures and is still raking in the money, I Say - Good On Ya Ms Thang!

One of my favorite photos of Madge - her eyes are AMAZING here!

I love this song and the video ~

MADONNA ATTENDS PRINCE CONCERT IN NYC..ENDING DECADE LONG FUED

Superstars Prince and Madonna have ended their decades-long feud after the Material Girl turned up to one of his recent New York concerts and cheered him on from the crowd.

The pop idols were close friends throughout the 1980s and briefly became lovers before teaming up to record the track "Love Song," from Madonna's 1988 album "Like a Prayer."
But they suffered a mystery fall-out and their relationship turned bitter as they took shots at one through
The media

But the old pals now appear to have put their differences to rest, according to UsMagazine.com. Madonna was spotted in the audience at Prince's Madison Square Garden gig on Tuesday, singing and clapping along to the soul star's hits.
And Prince even acknowledged Madonna's presence by giving her a special shout out from the stage, after joking about the high-price of their concert tickets. source
