ELIZABETH TAYLOR TO BE BURIED TODAY

Elizabeth Taylor, who converted to Judaism for her marriages to Mike Todd and Eddie Fisher, is following the rules of the religion by being buried soon after her death Wednesday.

The funeral for the star, who succumbed to congestive heart failure at age 79, is taking place at Forest Lawn, Glendale, on Thursday, say reports. It will be strictly for family members, including her 10 grandchildren.

The cemetery is also where Taylor's friend, Michael Jackson, is buried.

It is expected that a public memorial for Taylor will take place at a later date.

Taylor had four children: Michael and Christopher Wilding (whose father was Taylor's second husband, actor Michael Wilding), Liza Todd (daughter of Taylor and third husband, the showman Mike Todd) and Maria Burton (adopted by Taylor and actor Richard Burton, husband Nos. five and six).

MICHAEL JACKSON & ELIZABETH TAYLOR - BEST FRIENDS TOGETHER AGAIN

Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor, whose career spanned seven decades, died Wednesday (Mar. 23) of congestive heart failure at age 79.

Billboard.com remembers Taylor not just for her legacy as an Oscar-winning actress, captivating celebrity and philanthropist, but also for her long-lasting friendship with Michael Jackson, another child star who achieved incredible feats under intense public scrutiny.

Jackson and Taylor became friends in the 1980s, and as the actress said, their chemistry was immediate. "Our childhoods are very similiar, and we had that from the very beginning in common," she said. "I was a child star at nine, had an abusive father, and that kind of brought us together."

After the King of Pop's untimely death on June 25, 2009, Taylor issued a deeply emotional statement. "My heart…my mind… are broken," she said. "I loved Michael with all my soul and I can't imagine life without him. We had so much in common and we had such loving fun together."

"I keep looking at the photo he gave me of himself, which says, 'To my true love Elizabeth, I love you forever,' " Taylor added. " 'And, I will love HIM forever." Taylor attended the funeral service for Jackson on July 7, 2009.

Jackson's brother, Tito Jackson, has issued his own statement on Taylor's passing today. "Most memorable is her steadfast loyalty and unwavering friendship to my late brother Michael Jackson," he said. "Liz provided a sense of relief and comfort to my brother at various difficult times in his life, and I appreciate that, may she rest in peace."

Elizabeth Taylor Showing Signs Of Improvement!

It's good news for Elizabeth Taylor!

A week after checking into an L.A. hospital for symptoms associated with congestive heart failure, the Hollywood icon is showing marked improvement.
"Since being admitted, there has been steady improvement in her condition, and over the weekend she has had visits from family and close friends," says a statement from reps for the legendary actress, 78, who suffers from an ongoing heart condition. "Her medical team is gratified by her progress to date, and it is hoped and expected that this will continue over the next few days. For now, she will remain under their care in the hospital for continued monitoring."
While Taylor is enjoying visits from those close to her, "she is sleeping and resting a lot, which she really needs to recover her strength," the star's rep Sally Morrison says. "Due to symptoms of congestive heart failure, she is still being monitored and continues to need rest to recover her strength. She did not have a heart attack."

Symptoms of congestive heart failure include difficulty breathing and fluid in the lungs.

Taylor, who underwent heart surgery in October 2009, appreciates support of her loyal fans. As the statement continues: "Friends and fans around the world should be reassured that Elizabeth Taylor is in good hands and receiving the best possible care from her skilled and dedicated doctors and nurses."
