WAY BACK PLAYBACK - "SHAKE YOU DOWN" GREGORY ABBOTT

Last night at work the usual Radio Station - Z103.5FM - I listen to wasn't coming in well (for unknown some reason) so I flipped through the dial and all the good stations (R&B, Pop ect) were all sounding the same (very broken up and nasty - Im not here for that ish) so I settled on an oldies sort of station, it was Lite 92.9FM and they played this song which I haven't heard in YEARS!! I KILLED this in the 80ies - KILLED IT!

Take a trip back to 1986 with Gregory Abbott ~

WAY BACK PLAYBACK - MARIAH CAREY "VISION OF LOVE"

I thought Id give a little shout out to Mariah and Nick today, they welcomed their babies into the world today - I almost think she was induced. No one ever really knew how far along she actually was and then to "happen" to have them on their Anniversary is well...kinda seems like its all part of "Mariah's Plan For A Perfect World"...no??
Either way - A BIG Congratulations on the  Babies AND on the Anniversary!!

WAY BACK PLAYBACK - DJ JAZZY JEFF & THE FRESH PRINCE "SUMMERTIME"

Hard to believe it was ten years ago that this song was released.

This was one of the first songs from Will that stepped out of the silly rapping (which I LOVED) to a more mainstream R&B sound. I liked this music for Will but it was also around this time he started to become a more serious actor and the world of Movies will never be the same!!

Michael said that the song's lyrics were not a reference to sex, but could be about whatever people wanted them to be about.

Songs From The Past - Somewhere Out There....

I just feel like writing about this song, I love it and always have - the blend of these two voices is amazing. Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram make a serious point with this song - Somewhere Out There there is someone for everyone. No matter how or where you meet, no matter your age or race - there is someone for all of us - the trick is in actually finding that someone who was made for you. The other half that makes you a whole.
Not everyone gets to connect with their soul mate but if you do find them - hold on tight and break any barrier to be with them - age, distance, race or anything else should never factor into it....isnt true love worth moving mountains??

Tina Turner Said - What's Love Got To Do With It??

I decided to write about this song because it was how I personally was feeling for a few moments in my life. I was like f**k it - who needs a heart when its only gonna get broken anyway??
Its an angry song about love and disappointments...totally the right type of song to have in your head when you're angry about someone breaking your heart, in whatever way - it applies to many situations or you can make it apply.
This is totally the song in my head at the moment....
