Two unreleased collaborations between will.i.am and Justin Timberlake leaked this week, one a sober reflection on social issues and the other a party song about finding some “high-class sexy ladies.”

It’s unknown when the tracks were recorded, but Timberlake hasn’t released an album since 2006 and will’s last solo record, ‘Songs About Girls,’ was released in 2007.

Justin Timberlake has been focusing his time on Hollywood lately, but the pop superstar is almost ready to make his long-awaited return to music.
“I’m planning to spend some time in the studio this summer,” the 30-year-old singer-turned-actor revealed to Entertainment Weekly.
Timberlake, whose last album FutureSex/LoveSounds was released in 2006, is making sure he brings something new to the table with his third solo project.
“I feel like I’m always writing music and working on songs,” added The Social Network star. “But to make an album, you have to find a group of songs that speak to something that might not be on the radio currently and make sense for you personally.”
But fans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer. “It’s right around the corner, I think.”

TOP 5 MADISON SQUARE GARDEN TELEVISED PERFORMANCES - LADY GAGA IS NEXT

With the impending release of Lady Gaga's third album "Born This Way" (you may have heard about it), the 24-year-old singer is also getting her own HBO concert. 

The network announced that Gaga's Feb. 21 and 22 shows at New York's Madison Square Garden will be packaged into a special, airing Saturday, May 7. 

This may seem like a natural step for the Grammy-winning, 15-million-record-selling singer, but HBO doesn't just hand these things out. Gaga enters an elite fraternity including Madonna, Michael Jackson and Britney Spears. 

And, yes, the days of event television may be behind us, but the spectacle of a well-produced concert is timeless. So here are five of the more iconic performances to ever grace pay cable:

Michael Jackson, The Dangerous Tour, 1993

Reported at the time as the "largest financial deal for a concert performance" in TV history, MJ's show in Bucharest, Romania, landed on HBO during a period when the artist was distancing himself from public appearances in the USA. In hindsight, Jackson's moves and command of the stage endure. His billowing kimono and guitarist dressed as the Tree of Life from "Avatar..." not so much.

Madonna, Drowned World Tour, 2001


Her third HBO special -- a follow-up to 1990's Blond Ambition and 1993's Girlie Show -- was sort of a coup for the singer, who'd all but abandoned her singles from the '80s. But the Material Girl returned to her home in the English countryside suburban Detroit with a tour that hit all of her career highs. This one was broadcast live, with a countdown special that reminds us that, as much as we'd like to forget, the early aughts were basically still the '90s. Karen Duffy and several dozen men with platinum highlights offer proof of that. 

Britney Spears, Live From Las Vegas, 2001


Can you believe Britney Spears was three years and three albums deep into her career before she had televised concert? It may have something to do with the fact that singing live has never really been her thing, but this show proved she can writhe in simulated rain with the best of them. Nobody else has, or will, ever look this good in a transparent cowboy hat.

Justin Timberlake may be considering a career solely devoted to acting, but it's probably just been too long since he last popped in the Blu-ray of his 2007 show at Madison Square Garden. It puts his work in "The Social Network" to shame. And clocking in at just under 2 hours, it also holds the unofficial record for longest consecutive period of time one mortal human being has literally oozed sex.

If god were to make a concert line-up, it would probably look a lot like the 25th anniversary show for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Legends like Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and B.B. King played with a host of other guests, culminating in a Springsteen/Billy Joel medley. They close the night with "Born To Run," and it's arguably one of the greatest things to ever happen. Ever.

Justin Timberlake is well aware that the public's new perception of him as a movie star — one on indefinite hiatus from his platinum-plus pop music career — comes with certain perks as well as a few potent liabilities.
Timberlake's colorful performance as Facebook co-founding father Sean Parker in the David Fincher-directed box-office hit "The Social Network" netted him the best reviews of his still nascent film career and sparked speculation that the onetime Mr. SexyBack may land an Oscar nomination for supporting actor on Jan. 25. Consequently, the six-time Grammy winner's stock as an actor has shot through the roof. Timberlake recently wrapped his first leading role, in the romantic comedy "Friends With Benefits" opposite Mila Kunis, and he's currently filming his debut action-hero role — that benchmark of mass appeal in Hollywood — in the sci-fi thriller "Now."
But Timberlake acknowledged that the lengthy break from his recording career — his last album was released in 2006, and there are none in the works — has created a backlash among some fans. "They're looking at me like, 'Why aren't you staying with one path?'" he said. "They look at me like I'm ungrateful for my music career because I want to do film."
Seated in a small office at NBC's Burbank studios last month before a taping of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," appearing thoughtful and uncharacteristically somber in a black cardigan and Buddy Holly-esque glasses, Timberlake took pains to explain that this acting thing isn't some fluke; he considered coming to Los Angeles to break into television as early as 1995, before future band mate Chris Kirkpatrick persuaded Timberlake to commit to 'N Sync, which went on to become the most popular boy band of the decade.
Indeed, Timberlake brackets any current debate with his earlier career metamorphosis. His decision to quit 'N Sync in 2002 and develop a solo career was greeted with as much, if not much more, shock and dismay by millions of screaming fans.
"I faced the same feelings when I went solo," said Timberlake, absent-mindedly cracking his knuckles at the memory. "I had the same obstacles in music. I still do. But I feel like I should pose the question to everyone else: If you had this opportunity, what would you do with it?"
"Entertaining is in my blood," he continued. "I make no bones about the fact that I have always wanted to work in the forum of film. I take this seriously. I'll be 30 in January, and I'm saying to myself, 'If I'm going to do this, I need to do it now.'"
