NE-YO'S SHARES HIS OPINION ON "AUTO-TUNE"

Ne-Yo has already expressed his distaste in singers who use “auto-tune.” And in a recent interview with That Grape Juice, the singer/songwriter condemned the use of it once again, and says he considers it a cheating method.
Read what Ne-Yo has to say below ~

“I was talking about anybody who says that they are a ’singer’ and lets auto-tune do the heavy lifting. I feel like if you’re doing this for the purpose of a trend then you’re cheating! It’s cheating! I feel like if you’re a singer then sing.
“Mind you, auto-tune and melodyne, these are tools that are supposed to help make your music better. I always use the terminology of it being a safety net. Singing is like walking a tightrope, and auto-tune and melodyne are supposed to be used just in case you fall. You’re not supposed to put on your auto-tune wings and jump off the cliff and fly around!
“A lot of cats are getting lazy to the point that they’ll sing it just as good as it has to be and let auto-tune do the rest.”

Do You Agree With Ne-Yo?? I know I sure do!

NE-YO FIRES BACK UP DANCERS FOR NOT WANTING TO TRAVEL TO JAPAN!

Platinum selling singer/songwriter Ne-Yo recently had to rip a few pages out of Donald Trump’s playbook and  tell a few of his back up dancers “You’re Fired!”
According to published reports, the dancers didn’t want to travel to Japan where the singer has a series of concert dates lined up because they feared for their safety in the tsunami stricken country.
Ne-Yo’s manager informed the dancers that despite their safety concerns — specifically the threat of aftershocks and exposure to radiation — they were still going ahead with the Japan dates. That’s when four dancers decided not to make the trip to Japan. And as a direct result, those dancers were then told by the tour manager they were dropped from the rest of the tour, which wraps in Korea on March 30th.
Ne-Yo has two more shows in Japan, March 22nd and 24th, with some proceeds from the shows going to victims of the earthquake.
Look at Ne-Yo turning into the assertive CEO. They just grow up so fast!!

SNOOKI RESPONDS TO NE-YO'S RANT

Snooki, 23, responded on Twitter the very next day, asking:

“Neyo’s mad that I got the cover of rolling stone? Hm you lost a loyal fan,” she tweeted. “What a buzz kill.#sorry.”

The war of words went a step further when 31-year-old Ne-Yo defended his public opinion to E! Online:

“I don’t know her so I can’t disrespect her but I feel like Rolling Stone is a music magazine,” he told the site, “and for them to put her on the cover, it’s like, ‘Really?!’

Then this past Sunday (Mar 13), Snooki  finally threw the last blow when she  told UsMagazine.com:

“I’m a big fan of Ne-Yo,” she admitted. “Every song was on my iPod and I deleted them yesterday just because of his comments.”

“Why do you hate me? I’m the nicest person ever,” Snooki told him via the gossip site. “I understand you are a little mad cause your career is not up right now and I’m on the cover but you know what – like I’m a nice person and I deserve it, so get over it.”

Ouch! It has to suck when you get publicly “ethered” by a no talent, alcoholic reality “slore” with about 10 minutes left in her 15 minutes of fame. Harsh!

NE-YO RANTS ABOUT SNOOKI ON ROLLING STONE COVER (TOO FUNNY)

Ne-Yo took time off his tour to hop on Twitter and rant about Jersey Shore’s Snooki‘s Rolling Stone Magazine cover.

The singer who felt the cover was disrespectful to those who actually have a career started off by saying,

"Wow. Snooki is on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Really? I quit. (Just kidding, but almost serious….) No disrespect to Snooki, I don’t know her, but damn Rolling Stone? REALLY? REALLY! I guess….."

The singer tried to contain himself but couldn’t saying,

"I feel a rant coming on, but at the sake of sounding like I’m complaining or even hating, Imma chill. I got y’all. New album on the way."

But that Midol he popped refused to take effect and so he went off:

"I WILL get the respect I deserve in this business or I won’t be in this business. PERIOD. Have a #splendid day twit fam!!"

"I gotta take this opportunity to thank those that recognize what I am regardless of what I do or don’t sell, what a blog hag says I am, etc"

"Fun is fun, mayhem is entertaining, but COME ON PEOPLE!! There’s gotta be some sort of balance somewhere! Man, GOD bless the biz…."

So…I take it he’s not a fan…of the cover that is…

Okay Ne-Yo…men going on a Twitter rant is never cute. That being said I agree with you but I think you should be ragging against MTV. You know, that station that is supposed to be about music bu has turned into reality TV central?

Honestly when was the last time MTV played a music video?

Rolling Stone is just keeping up with the times and to be honest I didn’t even know Snooki had a cover until this rant so way to promote the machine Ne-Yo!

NE-YO RESPONDS TO COMMENTS ABOUT BEYONCE

During a recent interview, singer/songwriter Ne-Yo said one song he wished he'd kept for himself was the Beyoncé hit "Irreplaceable" -- a comment which Beyonce fans took as a dis to the superstar. Now, Ne-Yo's taken to his twitter to defend himself and his remarks.

"One song that I gave away and didn't want to, but it's actually a good thing that I did, is Beyonce's 'Irreplaceable'. I honestly wrote that song for myself, but that song taught me a very interesting lesson: Many women don't think that differently. ... However, a man singing it comes across a little bit misogynistic, a little bit mean," Ne-Yo, who penned the track, said in an interview.
But when it was insinuated that Ne-Yo was dissing Beyonce with his comments by some tweeters, Ne-Yo immediately responded. "Aiight my dude. Send me the link to where I said ANYTHING disrespectful about Beyonce, PLEASE! Dying to hear this," he posted. "Just heard the audio where I supposedly dissed Beyonce. ARE Y'ALL SERIOUS!?! Did y'all even listen to what I said!?!
"I said I originally wrote the song for me. That's true, so OF COURSE I didn't want to give it away originally. IT WAS FOR ME," he continued, clearly livid at the accusation. "Once I realized how the song comes across if sung by a guy, that's when I decided to give it away. HOW IS THAT DISSING BEYONCE!?! She took the song and made it a smash, NOBODY can deny that."
Eventually, Ne-Yo put a stop to the senseless venting. "You know what? At first I was apologetic about what the hacker said, now that I've heard the audio myself, not so much," he wrote. "Y'all should listen a lil' harder before you start dissin' people. Makes you look real dumb. I'm tired of being nice to dumb people. ... Bottom line, Beyonce is my friend. To HELL with anybody that ain't SMART enough to understand what I truly meant.

"Last time y'all will EVER get any of my time or attention," he declared in the end. "Much love to my fans and fam, F*CK IDIOTS AND HATERS!! Have a good one."

DICK CLARK'S NEW YEAR'S ROCKIN EVE!!!!

OMG - I can't even begin to tell you how EXCITED I am for this!!!

Two of 2010’s breakout stars, Willow Smith and Drake, will start the year off right by performing on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.”
In addition to those two, Ne-Yo, Jennifer Hudson, Jason Derulo, Far East Movement, Mike Posner, La Roux, Avril Lavigne, Natasha Bedingfield, and Train are set to provide the soundtrack to the New Year’s celebration.

So, several things excite me about this.....

First - WILLOW SMITH!!!!! (nothing more need be said here)

Second - Ne-Yo, LOVE him and he is in my top ten male artists!! Not only does he have a great voice but he is pretty hot right now in the music business.

Third - Jennifer Hudson, she just so happens to be one of my top ten female artists. I love her, not only does she have pipes that can blow through ANY song but she is also a fantastic actress!

Fourth - Natasha Bedingfield, she also holds a spot in my top ten female artists. I love her voice and I'm so happy she will be performing!!

Fifth - I saw this spot with my own eyes when I was in New York 3 months ago so when I watch this on New Years Eve and can now envision this area where they will be cause I was there!!!

This is an amazing thing to happen to young Willow, at her age to be asked to perform and be ok'ed by Dick Clark is AWESOME!! Will and Jada must be so proud of her and of all their children - hell I'm proud of them and they are not even mine LOL
"I whip my hair back and forth - I whip my hair back and forth" (singing in my Willow voice)

NE-YO IS A FIRST TIME DADDY!!!

Congratulations to Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Chimere Smith) and his girlfriend Monyetta Shaw, who reportedly welcomed a baby girl on Friday, November 12.

Monyett went into early labor Friday night and gave birth to a baby girl. Ne-Yo was performing at a charity event for his foundation when he received word that Monyetta had gone into labor early - their baby wasn't due until the end of the year. The new dad apparently made it to the Atlanta hospital in time to see his daughter's arrival

The baby is the first for the Miss Independent singer, who gushed earlier this year that he was "very, very, very excited" to become a father.

Welcome to Parenthood Ne-Yo!!
