Motown music  is on constant repeat in my shuffle ...some of the greatest acts came from there.need i remind you ..jackson 5 ..which  lunched the biggest star on earth michael jackson.. the supremes that lunched on of the most influential female artist ever Diana ross...and host of others like Stevie wonder, smokey robinson ,temptations and so many more.

TOP 5 MADISON SQUARE GARDEN TELEVISED PERFORMANCES - LADY GAGA IS NEXT

With the impending release of Lady Gaga's third album "Born This Way" (you may have heard about it), the 24-year-old singer is also getting her own HBO concert. 

The network announced that Gaga's Feb. 21 and 22 shows at New York's Madison Square Garden will be packaged into a special, airing Saturday, May 7. 

This may seem like a natural step for the Grammy-winning, 15-million-record-selling singer, but HBO doesn't just hand these things out. Gaga enters an elite fraternity including Madonna, Michael Jackson and Britney Spears. 

And, yes, the days of event television may be behind us, but the spectacle of a well-produced concert is timeless. So here are five of the more iconic performances to ever grace pay cable:

Michael Jackson, The Dangerous Tour, 1993

Reported at the time as the "largest financial deal for a concert performance" in TV history, MJ's show in Bucharest, Romania, landed on HBO during a period when the artist was distancing himself from public appearances in the USA. In hindsight, Jackson's moves and command of the stage endure. His billowing kimono and guitarist dressed as the Tree of Life from "Avatar..." not so much.

Madonna, Drowned World Tour, 2001


Her third HBO special -- a follow-up to 1990's Blond Ambition and 1993's Girlie Show -- was sort of a coup for the singer, who'd all but abandoned her singles from the '80s. But the Material Girl returned to her home in the English countryside suburban Detroit with a tour that hit all of her career highs. This one was broadcast live, with a countdown special that reminds us that, as much as we'd like to forget, the early aughts were basically still the '90s. Karen Duffy and several dozen men with platinum highlights offer proof of that. 

Britney Spears, Live From Las Vegas, 2001


Can you believe Britney Spears was three years and three albums deep into her career before she had televised concert? It may have something to do with the fact that singing live has never really been her thing, but this show proved she can writhe in simulated rain with the best of them. Nobody else has, or will, ever look this good in a transparent cowboy hat.

Justin Timberlake, FutureSex/LoveShow, 2007


Justin Timberlake may be considering a career solely devoted to acting, but it's probably just been too long since he last popped in the Blu-ray of his 2007 show at Madison Square Garden. It puts his work in "The Social Network" to shame. And clocking in at just under 2 hours, it also holds the unofficial record for longest consecutive period of time one mortal human being has literally oozed sex. 

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concert, 2009


If god were to make a concert line-up, it would probably look a lot like the 25th anniversary show for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Legends like Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and B.B. King played with a host of other guests, culminating in a Springsteen/Billy Joel medley. They close the night with "Born To Run," and it's arguably one of the greatest things to ever happen. Ever.

God Has Spoken - Stevie Wonder On MJ's New Album.

On a recent radio interview with Ryan Seacrest Stevie wonder talked about MJ'S new album MICHAEL.. he spoke about his favorite song on the album and how he believes its all him read the interview below

[Stevie Wonder is playing and singing in the studio, talking with DJ Ryan Seacrest, who asks Stevie to perform a holiday tune. Stevie replies:]

SW: I will, but do me a favor, we can talk about that...but I just downloaded the new Michael Jackson album...

RS: Do you like it?

SW: I totally like it! And I like song number four, without question...

RS: (I Like) The Way You Love Me?

SW: Yeah, I think y'all should play that, really. The reason, in part, that I talk about this song is because we all know that, when he died, there were those people who loved him so much - most of the people throughout the world, but there were those who came out talkin' craziness and talkin' just stupid stuff. Some of those people befriended him, and then after he died, come up with this stupid stuff and said "Well, you know..." and that kind of stuff... And it really bothered me. It bothered me so much that that's why I didn't want to do any interviews, because I didn't want to be part of that.

But I wanted to be a part of... You know what? He, as in John Lennon, as in many of the people we lost... they were blessings to the planet. And I think a way to show him, his mother, how much we really love the blessing of his life is by just continuing to let the legacy of this man live and be strong. Because love is far bigger than hate, and it should always be that way. So I loved this song a lot.

RS: So let me ask you something, and I'll put this in here and we'll cue it up. Will.i.am -- and he's on the show tomorrow -- was very vocal about this album, saying it shouldn't have been released, he was upset about it, and some people have said that. And you totally disagree with that.

SW: Well I think that, obviously, we want to know what the artist was thinking, and we've had artists' songs come out right after they died and that just is what that is. And if your hookup is right before you die, if you make sure that everything is straight should you die, that either those songs will be released the way you would approve and done by someone, or they won't be. Because you can only do as much as you will have done by the time you die. So I think that people love Michael Jackson and they want to hear the very, very last thing that he did. 

I'm hoping, and it sounds to me more -- far more -- like him than not. 

And I just think that we all have opinions, right? You know? Everybody's got an opinion, we can't stop that. Will is a good person, and that's how he feels.

I just know that that song I like. I LOVE that song! I just love it, it makes me feel that he's there. That's the spirit of how I like to remember his voice... one of the different ways -- obviously, he had many different ways of singing.

So I just look at the positive. If it's going to encourage somebody, talking about love... if it's going to encourage somebody, talking about things that will maybe stop someone who wants to kill themself, and by hearing something positive, they're inspired to live even greater and better... then let's do that. I mean, we were given the gift not to just let it die when we die.

RS: Here is the song he was just talking about -- Michael Jackson....[plays song]. That was Michael Jackson, cut 4 from the new Michael Jackson album. Stevie Wonder requested that one. Pretty song!

SW: [Sings a brief melody snippet, singing "Dooo-wooooh-oooooh..."] "Isn't it pretty?"

RS: Yeah, it's REALLY pretty!

SW: [Sings another brief snippet.]"Dooo-wooooh-oooooh..."

So, let us scratch our heads (or whatever) and ask ourselves, "Self? Why was Will.i.am's opinion on Michael on a million news sites, but Stevie Wonder's not on one? When the first is a firefly dimmed by the sun of the second? When said sun is an undisputed musical genius and legend with an ear of pure gold, who's worked with and known Michael's voice for decades longer?

Let me break it down for you, it's quite simple. The media profits more by reporting on controversy than praise.

Especially when it comes to Michael Jackson.

(And legends don't have time to tweet.)
