LLOYD TRIBUTES MJ AT CONCERT WITH "ROCK WITH YOU " PERFORMANCE

Lloyd paid tribute to his idol Michael Jackson at his show with Diddy-Dirty Money in Los Angeles over the weekend. In addition to bring out surprise guests YG, Nipsey Hussle, and Game, Young Goldie performed a cover of the late King of Pop’s “Rock With You” with his band, later giving it a go acapella. (Source)

I love Lloyd he has somewhat always reminded me of mike during off the wall days. They really look alike...he is a great singer and did terrific on the cover in my opinion.

MICHAEL JACKSON MANSLAUGHTER CASE DELAYED UNTIL SEPTEMBER

(LA Times) - A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge agreed Monday to push back the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor until September.

Judge Michael Pastor made the ruling at the request of defense attorneys representing Dr. Conrad Murray.

The attorneys said they could not be ready for trial, which was set to begin with opening statements next week, because of eleventh-hour prosecution experts debunking their theory that the king of pop died by his own hand.

Prosecutors contended the latest medical experts proposed no new theories, and the defense caused the situation by invoking Murray’s right to a speedy trial.

They told the judge last week that one of their experts reached the conclusion that it would have been impossible for Jackson to have caused his own death by orally ingesting the drug propofol, an argument that defense attorneys made during preliminary hearings.

The 171 potential jurors who had filled out lengthy questionnaires about the case in March will be excused, and a new panel will be selected beginning Sept. 8, the judge said.

Pastor said the delay was necessary for “fundamental fairness.”

Murray has pleaded not guilty to causing his famous patient’s death by injecting him with propofol, a powerful surgical anesthetic, and leaving his bedside.

DISTRICT ATTORNEY REQUESTS THE USE OF TII REHEARSAL FOOTAGE IN MICHAEL JACKSON MANSLAUGHTER CASE

To prove that Michael Jackson was happy, energetic and excited for the future and not looking to take his own life, the district attorney has requested the rehearsal video footage, filmed days before Jackson’s untimely passing, to be used as evidence against Dr. Conrad Murray. 
The footage will counter-argue Dr. Murray's defense team, who suggested Michael Jackson may have purposefully overdosed on powerful anaesthetic Propofol. 
In motions filed on Tuesday, they requested to use video clippings from the Jackson concert movie, “This Is It,” to prove the singer was in an excellent health, busy in scheduling his concert tour and had all the reasons to live.

They say this would disagree with defense asserts that Jackson took his own life.

Prosecutors also wish to use partial autopsy images of Jackson to verify that although thin, he was in brilliant health. They say the images would not be grisly. Defense lawyers say the images would provoke the jury’s emotions.

Murray has appealed not being culpable. Jury choice continues May 4 and motions are to be discussed on Thursday. The trial is scheduled to begin next month - May11.

WEIRD AL SPOOFS "BORN THIS WAY"

Weird Al did a spoof of "Born This Way" and was hoping to have it on his upcoming album - when presented to Lady GaGa she said NO WAY! I think she should let him - Michael Jackson never minded, in fact - he loved it and thought that Al was funny!
A video to this song from Weird Al would be CLASSIC!!

UPDATE - GaGa has since given permission for Al to do this song spoof, she couldnt handle the bad press!

AN IDEA FOR A PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION OF L.O.V.E FOR MICHAEL JACKSON

Brenda Jenkyns, author of the beautiful children's book, Ever After, has come up with a truly wonderful idea. What if all the fans planning to be outside the courtroom for Conrad Murray's trial engaged in a "peaceful demonstration" of L.O.V.E. and respect for Michael Jackson? 
Here's the idea, in her own words...

or those of you planning on being outside the courthouse to support Mrs. Katherine Jackson and the Jackson family in their attendance at the trial, close your eyes for a moment and picture this:

Hundreds of Michael Jackson’s fans from around the world gathered together to demonstrate unity and solidarity with their cause in prayerful, respectful silence.

Imagine the family approaching the courthouse for what will, undoubtedly, be a very emotionally-trying several months and encountering hundreds of people with heads bowed in reverent memory of their son and father and brother instead of a seething mass of humanity undulating in angry waves with their clenched fists raised in the air.

Imagine Katherine and Prince, Paris and Blanket walking towards the courthouse in Los Angeles surrounded by silent, mindful people who show their awareness of the solemnity of the occasion by holding banners framing pictures of their son and daddy and words like “You Are Not Alone” and “We Are Here With You” and “We Are The World” and “We Remember Michael” and “Michael’s Army of Love” emblazoned in giant letters across them.

Picture clusters of people singing the words to one of Michael’s many songs with messages of peace and forgiveness, holding hands while singing You Are Not Alone or Heal the World or Hold My Hand or “We can change the world, you don’t have to do it by yourself. We can touch the sky. Gonna take all of us to help. We’re the chosen ones.” Wouldn’t that be more healing than hurling bitter feeling?

And for all of us stuck at home and unable to be in Los Angeles for the trial, wouldn’t our spiritual support for the peaceful demonstration pictured above accompanied by visualizing the most beneficial outcome for all concerned be a more healing substitute for the bitter judgments in which we are currently engaging?

Do you want the world to pay attention to what you are demonstrating for? Prayerful silence is the shot heard ‘round the world … deafening. News crews will be totally speechless … they won’t know what to think or say. It would be so beautiful to watch their dumbfounded faces as they tried to comprehend what they were seeing.

Do we want the world … and Michael’s family … to know that we got it?

Do you want to scare the plain, unsparkly socks off the medialoid?

Do you want to shame the Dimonds and Bashirs and Sneddons right out of their lying little hearts?

It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

Let's show Michael that we understand his message of L.O.V.E. and we are ready to show the world.

TITO JACKSON TALKS SOLO ALBUM, JANET, MICHAEL AND MORE!

UsMagazine.com: What inspired you to branch into a solo career?
Tito Jackson: I actually started a solo career back in the days of Motown, but it so happened that the brothers left the company at the time that I was in the middle of my project, so it was never released. I had three sons, so I had to stop and raise my boys. I just put my project on the back burner for a little while, or a long while I should say. I worked for my kids, raised my sons. But since everyone in my family has a solo career, I thought it was time for me to do something.


Us: How is this album different from what you produced with the Jackson Five? And what sets it apart from the work of your siblings? 


TJ: I think what sets it apart is that it's just me expressing my musical abilities, and what I feel and think musically. Instead of having four or five other brothers with their input, I'm able to totally express myself. 


Us: Was it ever difficult to get the five of you to agree on the music you all produced? 


TJ: Well, it's a musical thing. It almost speaks for itself, especially when you're speaking about musical disagreement. The music will speak for itself.


Us: Awesome. Are your sons on the album at all?


TJ: My sons have a huge involvement in the album. They helped produce and write some of the songs and sang in the background with me. They kept me really focused on the project. After my brother passed away, it was very difficult to get back into a musical groove. I had to take time to just mourn for a moment. I felt Michael wanted me to continue my music. He had heard the title track, and he liked it and praised it very much. I started back on it about four months ago, and now I'm going to complete it and get it out.


Us: Incredible. Are there any tributes to Michael on the album? 
TJ: No, but I’m working on something. It's actually still very hard for me to listen to his music. Although, I hear it all the time, to actually listen to some of his later music when he wasn't a Jackson Five is difficult. I don't instantly think about Michael Jackson the superstar, I think that my brother is not here.


Us: How is the whole family coping? Has it brought the family closer together? 


TJ: It brought us closer as a family, and we are there for one another. I truly understand the meaning when they say, 'You never get over it.' You don’t.


Us: Do your children or grandchildren hang out with Michael's children at all? 


TJ: Absolutely. As a matter of fact, Blanket and my grandson are best friends. They're close in age, so they play together. Prince is having fun and enjoying school and that whole thing. So is Paris.


Us: What about Janet? How is she handling everything? What do you think of her tour?
 
TJ: I haven’t seen Janet's show yet, but I hear great things about it. I saw her last concert tour, and it was fabulous. She’s always excited me ever since she was just a little baby on stage with her brothers. I always enjoyed watching her.


Us: Do you think Janet will settle down and have a family with the new boyfriend?
 
TJ: Janet is a hard worker, and she's always motivated by new ideas and building her career. Who knows? Maybe she's at an age and time in her life where she might want to take a little slower place and maybe consider some of the things she hasn't touched on in life. Maybe a family. Maybe marriage. You never know.She's been married before, but maybe a family this time. We'll see.


Us: You've kind of developed a reputation as the Jackson who wears the hat. How many hats do you have if you had to guess?


TJ: How many hats? Wow. Quite a few. At least 50.


Us: Do you have a personal favorite? 
TJ: I like my Beaver Boat bowler.


Us: I read that Michael said you were the calm one that kept everyone grounded in the group. What was it like playing that role in the family?


TJ: It's just the way that I've always been. I tell it like it is, but I don’t voice my opinion unless it's asked for. I keep my thoughts to myself, and I think that's one of the best ways to be. With brothers you become friends. Some you hang out with more than others. You talk to one about the other a little more. You get mad at them. Then, you love them. Then, you apologize. You have to apologize whether you want to or not. You have to. That's your brother.


Us: Who was buddied up in the Jackson Five? 


TJ: There were two groups. Michael, Marlon and Randy were a group. And then Jackie, Jermaine, and I were the other group.


Us: Once the album comes out, will you be going on tour?


TJ: Yes, I plan to do various dates over the course of the year including a radio tour as well.


Us: Will your family be touring with you at all?
TJ: I'm pretty sure my mom will always come in and check on us and visit to make sure everything is okay. She makes sure we’re behaving.


Us: What about your dad?
TJ: Joe Jackson is a great man. The problem that people have with my father is that he tells it like it is. He's just straight up and doesn't beat around the bush. Tough love. If he likes you, he'll let you know that. If he doesn't like you, he’s going to let you know that, too.


Us: And what about Mike's kids? Will you be taking them on tour at all? 


TJ: If they want to come out and hang out with Uncle Tito, that’s always welcome. I'm going to be taking them fishing this summer. I'm going to hang out with them a little bit when I get a chance.


Us: That’s great. And how are they? This must be so hard for them. How are they coping? 


TJ: Well, they're children and they have a way of not being okay, but being okay. They miss their pops dearly, but they are continuing to be children and do all the things that children do. They go to Disneyland and go to  the movies and the park, things children do.




I really enjoyed this..looking forward to this project and glad that mjs kids are doing just fine

KING MICHAEL

Last night here at The Halifax Forum they hosted a Michael Jackson Tribute Show called "King Michael". 
Now Im not usually one for impersonators but I thought - what the hell! Im soooo glad I went!! 
The first Michael to come on stage was "Young Mike" singing "Who's Loving You" and at the end he started crying - not quite sure if that was an act or not, but either way - that kid could SANG!! 

The elder Michael followed - There were two guys (I think they were guys lol) didnt look a whole lot like him but one of them had the moves down pat, while the other...not so much - at least, not as much as the other guy. These two men are either twins or have the same plastic surgeon cause they looked exactly the same (bad make up too)

They did the whole "Concert" type production - in full costume for each song either matched with the video or the actual stage performance which Michael did. It resembled Bucharest in most of the clothes and they did Smooth Criminal, Beat It, Billie Jean dressed like the video's (or short films as MJ called them ;-)
