She has a very unique vocal sound and you know who is singing as soon as she starts. As of 2010, She has sold over 50 million albums and 15 million singles from 8 albums. She has 9 Grammy Awards for R&B, Rap, Gospel and Pop - she is the only artist to achieve that!

She was ranked number 100 in the list of 100 greatest singers of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. In November 2010, Billboard Magazine ranked Blige as the most successful female R&B artist of the past 25 years, she ranked number two (overall) ahead of Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston who happen to be 3 of my all time favorite singers along with Madonna.
