Even Lady Gaga is going gaga over the singing of a 10-year-old musician from Winnipeg.
Maria Aragon began getting the star treatment on Thursday, as she was whisked away by limousine from school to a downtown Winnipeg radio station.
The attention came suddenly when pop superstar Lady Gaga announced only hours earlier on Twitter she had seen a YouTube video in which Aragon performs one of her songs and that she's impressed.
"Can't stop crying watching this. This is why I make music," Lady Gaga, who has more than eight million Twitter followers, said on the website.
Word of Gaga's interest spread like wildfire, prompting radio morning show host Ace Burpee to go to Aragon's school by limo to pick her up and bring her to the studio for an interview — and to give the girl a chance to sing on the air.
Burpee said he's so impressed with the girl's talent, he's beginning a push to try to get her an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
I was literally in tears for this girl. You see, things like this rarely happen to Canadian Artists. They have to fight so hard and most of them don't make it. Believe me - Justin Bieber would still be a snot nosed kid from Ontario were it not for You Tube. Drake has Lil Wayne to thank. This little girl has the potential to go very far and I pray that GaGa helps take her there.
