The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that David Archuleta has been dropped by Jive Records. "David was released from our roster," a Jive spokesperson confirmed to the entertainment magazine.
After selling nearly a million copies of his 2008 self-titled debut album, the Idol runner-up's sophomore effort, 2010's The Other Side Of Down, has only moved 63,000 units since its release in October. Archuleta's finale showdown with David Cook in May of 2008 logged the second-highest number of votes in Idol history, with roughly 97 million. Only the season eight finale between Kris Allen and Adam Lambert got more, with 100 million votes.
Though am upset about this news ..there is a good side since david can now search from a label that not only believes in him but is willing to invest in him..jive hasn't been cutting it this time around their promotion for his latest effort was simply catastrophic .heres wishing him the best i..hope he finds a new label and management soon!
