Janet Jackson is Nominated for the 2011 NAACP Awards

The superstar singer, and actress, Janet Jackson has received a nomination for an award, when the NAACP Awards is broadcast on TV, March 4th on FOX. This year marks the awards' 42nd year, and Jackson was recognized for her role in the Tyler Perry film, Why Did I Get Married Too? Jackson has continually been recognized for her work in film, and now that she has made a series of films, it was recently announced that she will be touring the world again this year.




According to the NAACP's official website for the awards show, Jackson is nominated in the category of "Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture. Other nominees in the category are Halle Berry, Kerry Washington, Queen Latifah, and Zoe Saldana.
Jackson started to film Why Did I Get Married Too?, quite shortly after her famous brother, the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson passed away. She said in interviews at the time, that going through the grief of losing her brother, helped her to channel that into her character in the film.
Janet Jackson has announced a 35-city world tour, and will be playing some dates in the United States.
