A massive congratulations goes out to Britney Spears for having her new single ‘Hold It Against Me’ debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This marks the second time the singer consecutively debuted at #1 entry following her 2009 hit single ‘3′. During its first week,‘Hold It Against Me’ entered the Radio Songs chart at #23 with a record breaking 45 million audience impressions. On top of those amazing accomplishments, the pop titan broke both airplay and digital sales records when she sold a staggering 411k downloads this week.
This has effortlessly won her the #1 position on the Digital Songs chart. As a result, the 29-year-old has earned herself the accolade of becoming the female artist with the largest first week digital single sales (beating out Taylor Swift’s record of 325k downloads with ‘Today Was a Fairytale’). The singer now joins the legendary Mariah Carey as the only two artists to have multiple songs debut at #1 on the Hot 100! Bravo to Ms Spears!
